"We drive past another ice cream place on our way to Uncle Dave's, but it is well worth it! They definitely have the best ice cream in the area. It's so smooth and creamy. The last time I was there I tried their seasonal watermelon basil, and it was so refreshing."

"Uncle Dave's is very local to my family, so we've been there a number of times over the years. It's known for the Billionaires Chocolate and the seasonal Pumpkin flavor. Both are very good. This time around, though, I got Salty Caramel with my chocolate, and did so on what they called a waffle cone. The chocolate was great, as usual, but the salty caramel felt a little cheap. My son described it well when he called it "a little gummy." I still liked it more than enough to finish it, of course, but it wasn't as good as I expected. The same can also be said of the waffle cone, which added a buck and a half to the cost and was like no waffle cone I've ever had. It still added a bit a crunch to the ice cream, but it was off low quality. It looked more wafer than waffle. Crisp cardboard is how I'd describe it, if that makes any sense. So next time around I'll get pumpkin with my chocolate, and I'll get it in a cup. I recommend you do the same..."

Constant favorites include billionaire's chocolate, a decadent rich chocolate, and vanilla beanie, a traditional homestyle vanilla yogurt that pairs great with shady brook's fresh fruit. Sweet corn is one seasonal flavor that can't be missed. With a vanilla base, tastes of honey, sea salt and actual sweet corn are blended in a magical way that screams summer without being over the top. Pumpkin spice is another great fall flavor, that is reminiscent of pie, without the artificial waxy bright orange flavor that comes with the season. Kids cups can easily be split between two. Another can't miss are the homemade ice cream sandwiches, including the oreo, traditional chipwhich, and the most popular, vanilla between apple cider donuts. They are a bit costly, but are worth it due to size, and quality. Uncle Dave's can now be found in local grocery stores including wegmans and shoprite, but nothing beats a visit."

"The whole set up of Shady Brook Farm is adorable. We pulled up and people are having drinks, playing corn hole . . . Amazing! The seating area was lit up blue with ample seats/tables. I ordered the apple cider ice cream sandwich and it's really good! Just be aware you must commit to letting it thaw. This is something you can commute back home with and still have it intact. I ended up breaking the donut in half, packing one half and splitting my half into twos. Those pieces melted easier and I ate them onsite. My half piece made it home all the way back to Jersey City, NJ. The only remark/issue I have is the cashier. When we lined up to order, the cashier was talking to her friends. We were just standing over to the side patiently waiting while the cashier continued talking to her three friends. This went on for about 5 minutes. Someone in the back finally said to the cashier are they ordering. This lead her to have her friends move over, but she still did not take our order. More of her friends came and she started to talk to them as well. Finally after they all left we got two donuts with cash. This took about 30 seconds since their premade/boxed and ready to go. Just very frustrating standing there when staff are having not so small, small talk at work."

"Best type of ice cream spot! Ice cream is smooth, creamy and absolutely delicious! Tons of great/creative flavors, homemade/quality ice cream, and heaping servings. Staff was very friendly and the line moved quickly. Didn't feel like there was too much sugar either. Very creamy! Live music and lots of seating outside is so nice on a summer day too!"
